What is Obiex Send?
Obiex Send is a feature that lets you move funds from your Obiex wallet to different destinations without going through the process of swapping from crypto to fiat.
Instead of searching for separate options for different withdrawal types, you can start in the Send section of your wallet and choose what you want to do.
There are three main options to use Send:
- Send to an Obiexer — send crypto to another Obiex user using their Obiex username.
- Local Currencies Payout — send the value of your crypto directly to a supported local bank account in a local currency such as NGNX or GHS.
- Onchain Crypto Withdrawal — send crypto from your Obiex wallet to an external crypto wallet using a wallet address and blockchain network.
The option you choose depends on where you want the money or crypto to end up.
How to Use Obiex Send
Step 1: Log in to Obiex
Open the Obiex app and log into your account.
If you do not have the app, download it on Play Store or App Store, and complete the account setup.
Step 2: Select Wallet
Once you are on the Obiex dashboard, look at the navigation options at the bottom of the screen.
Select Wallet.
Your Wallet page contains your available balances and the actions you can take with your funds.
Step 3: Select Send
On the Wallet page, select Send.
You will see three options:
- Send to an Obiexer
- Local Currencies Payout
- Onchain Crypto Withdrawal
From here, choose the option that matches what you want to do.
Method 1: How to Send Money to a Local Bank Account
This is the option to use when you want to send the value of your crypto to a supported local currency bank account.
For example, you may have USDT in your Obiex wallet and want the value sent to your Naira bank account.
With Send, you can go directly from the crypto in your wallet to the local-currency payout.
Step 1: Select "Local Currencies Payout"
After selecting Send from your Wallet, choose Local Currencies Payout.
Step 2: Select the Currency You Want to Send
Choose the local currency you want to receive.
The available options include:
- NGNX
- GHS
For example, if you are sending to a Nigerian bank account, you would select NGNX. If you are sending to a Ghanaian account, select GHS.
Step 3: Select the Wallet to Send From
Next, select the wallet containing the funds you want to send.
For example, you can select USDT.
Step 4: Enter the Bank Account Details
Select the bank account you want to send the funds to. If the account is not yet saved, enter the details manually.
Make sure you choose the correct account before continuing.
Step 5: Enter the Amount
Enter the amount you want to send.
As you enter the amount, you will automatically see its exchange value below the amount field.
This allows you to see how much you are sending and the corresponding value in the selected local currency before you continue.
Review the amount carefully.
Once you are satisfied with the amount and the displayed value, select Send.
You will then be taken to a transaction preview.
Step 6: Review the Transaction
The preview allows you to check the transaction before it is completed.
Review the details carefully.
Pay particular attention to:
- The currency you selected
- The wallet you are sending from
- The amount
- The bank account
- The exchange value
- Any other transaction information shown on the screen
Step 7: Select "Withdraw"
If all the details are correct, select Withdraw.
The preview has a time limit, so make sure you complete the confirmation before the preview times out.
Step 8: Enter Your Passcode and Authenticator Code
You will then be asked to authenticate the transaction.
Enter:
- Your transaction PIN
- Your authenticator code
These security steps help confirm that you are the person authorising the transaction.
Step 9: You're Done!
Once the transaction is successfully authenticated, the transfer is instantly completed.
All these steps are completed in less than 3 minutes!
Method 2: How to Send Crypto to Another Obiex User
Step 1: Select "Send to an Obiexer"
From the Send page, choose Send to an Obiexer.
Step 2: Select the Token
Select the crypto token you want to send.
For example, if you want to send USDT, select USDT.
Make sure you choose the correct token before proceeding.
Step 3: Enter the Recipient's Obiex Username
Enter the Obiex username of the person you want to send funds to.
Take care when entering the username.
If possible, confirm the username with the recipient before sending.
Step 4: Enter the Amount
Enter the amount of crypto you want to send. For example, it could be 10 or 50 USDT.
Check that the amount is correct before continuing.
Step 5: Select "Proceed"
Once you have entered the recipient's username and amount, select Proceed.
You will then see a preview of the transaction.
Step 6: Review the Transaction
Check the details shown on the preview screen.
Confirm that:
- You selected the correct token.
- The recipient's username is correct.
- The amount is correct.
This is your last opportunity to catch an error before confirming the transaction.
Step 7: Select "Send"
If everything is correct, select Send.
Step 8: Enter Your Passcode and Authenticator Code
Complete the security verification by entering your transaction PIN and Authenticator code.
You’re done! Once the transaction is successfully authenticated, the crypto is sent to the recipient.
Method 3: How to Withdraw Crypto to an External Wallet
If the person you are sending crypto to does not use Obiex, or you simply want to move your crypto to another wallet or exchange, use Onchain Crypto Withdrawal.
Step 1: Select "Onchain Crypto Withdrawal"
From the Send page, choose Onchain Crypto Withdrawal.
Step 2: Select the Token
Select the crypto token you want to withdraw.
For example:
- USDT
- Or another supported token available in your wallet
Make sure the token matches the asset you intend to send.
Step 3: Enter the Receiver's Details
You will need to provide the details of the wallet receiving the crypto.
These include:
Withdrawal Address: Enter the recipient's crypto wallet address.
A wallet address is a long string of letters and numbers that identifies where the crypto should be sent.
Network: Select the blockchain network from the available options.
The supported network dropdown includes options such as:
- SOL
- ERC20
- BEP20
- TRC20
- MATIC
The exact networks available can depend on the token you are withdrawing.
The network you select on Obiex must be compatible with the network supported by the receiving wallet.
A network mismatch can cause serious problems with a crypto transfer.
Step 4: Enter the Amount
Enter the amount of crypto you want to send.
Check your available balance and make sure you have enough funds to complete the transaction.
Step 5: Select "Proceed"
After entering the withdrawal details, select Proceed.
You will then see a preview of the transaction.
Step 6: Review the Transaction and Network Fee
Before confirming, review the transaction details.
The preview will show relevant information, including the network fee.
Check:
- Token
- Amount
- Withdrawal address
- Network
- Network fee
- Any other information shown in the preview
Step 7: Enter Your Passcode and Authenticator Code
Complete the security verification using your transaction PIN and Authenticator code.
And you’re done!

Go to Wallet → Send → Send to an Obiexer, then follow the procedures to complete your transaction.
5. Do I need a wallet address to send crypto to an Obiex user?

Select Wallet → Send → Onchain Crypto Withdrawal, , then follow the procedures to complete your transaction.
7. What networks can I use for an on-chain withdrawal?
