In the early part of 2022, I lost ₦250,000 to a Ponzi scheme. Then, someone gave me $1000 to trade with. For context, I didn’t have money at all then. I had just finished NYSC so that initial ₦250K was a lot of money to me. Now imagine $1000?!
I was on a ₦40,000-a-month salary. My colleagues were earning similar amounts, but I had $1000, so I had this mindset that me and these people were not mates. Little did I know that Divine Humbling was waiting for me ahead.
I started forming "Crypto Expert" and used all the money to trade. I moved the money around different crypto exchanges and wallets. Sure, I was gaining, but the losses were massive.
A major factor behind this loss was that my work didn’t give me enough time to pay attention to my trades.
On this day, I was shooting a video when the market crashed, and my phone was on silent mode. I opened the app and saw red everywhere. From that $1000, what’s currently left is about $200.
If anybody asks me to come and do crypto anything now, I will stop talking to them straight. No time.
