Obiex Central Cameroon: Obiex Expanding Across West Africa
Since our inception, Obiex has been dedicated to spreading across Africa, bringing simple and practical cryptocurrency services to as many people as possible. This determination has led us to garner over 55,000 users across the West African region in just 36 months.
In a significant step towards achieving our goal of crypto inclusion, we headed to Cameroon to host our first Obiex Central for our customers and the broader crypto community.
Why Cameroon?
Cameroon is a fast-growing market with a substantial demand for reliable crypto trading solutions. Additionally, we have a vibrant community of over 3,000 Cameroonians actively trading crypto on Obiex.
With our comprehensive range of services, we aimed to support new and existing users in Cameroon, connect directly with the community, address their concerns, and show our appreciation for their support.
The Event Proper:
Obiex Central in Cameroon was designed as a relaxed networking event focusing on personal interaction. The evening began with the MC introducing our product, followed by an in-depth discussion of our vision for Cameroon by our Chief Marketing Officer, Nwogbo Chibuike.
The CMO highlighted Cameroon's impressive transaction volumes, which prompted our team to organise this event. He shared plans to leverage the country's high crypto enthusiasm to expand our community further. Upcoming features for the Cameroon community include a P2P trading feature and a rewarding referral program to help expand the community further.
Next, our CEO, Ikechukwu Okeke, took the stage to engage with customers, answer questions, and gather suggestions. Customers expressed the need for a local exchange, with one customer noting a preference for resolving issues within Africa rather than abroad. The CEO reassured attendees about our platform's security, emphasising our use of top industry standards to protect customer assets.
The CEO also announced that Cameroon would be the first to experience our new referral program and prioritised the launch of P2P trading. Following these announcements, customers shared their crypto journeys and how they discovered Obiex. The CEO awarded $1,000 to Ngala, who shared an inspiring story of transitioning from a teacher earning 45,000 CFA to a full-time crypto trader.
After exchanging stories and app improvement suggestions, attendees enjoyed a buffet of intercontinental and local dishes, champagne, and a toast from the CMO. The event concluded with further networking and media interviews, where a customer, Dion, praised our customer support team's responsiveness and dedication.
We Will Be Back in Cameroon:
The event was a success, and we look forward to hosting an even bigger one in the future.
